Steven M. Hoefflin, M.D., F.A.C.S., graduated first in his class at UCLA Medical School in 1972. He continued his education in general surgery and completed a full plastic surgical residency program at UCLA Medical Center, where he received the coveted Surgical Medical Award.

He is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Hoefflin was Associate Clinical Professor, Division of Plastic Surgery, at UCLA Medical Center (where he received the Teacher of the Year Award, 1985 – 1986), was Chief of Plastic Surgery at Santa Monica Hospital Medical Center, 1982 – 1989, and was Chief of Plastic Surgery at Brotman Medical Center, 1980 – 1985. He was also a visiting professor for the International School of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Hoefflin is a past member of the Board of Directors of the UCLA Plastic Surgery Society, a current member of the Rhinoplasty Society and immediate past president of the Los Angeles Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is also a member of numerous medical and surgical societies, including the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.

Because of Dr. Hoefflin’s intense interest in medical writing and teaching, he is frequently asked to present scientific papers at numerous plastic surgical meetings and seminars.

For more than thirty-five years, Dr. Hoefflin has maintained a practice in the field of aesthetic plastic surgery in Santa Monica and Beverly Hills.
